Tenses adalah pola kalimat yang berubah menurut perubahan waktu. Waktu terbagi menjadi 3 jenis yaitu waktu lampau (Past Tense), waktu sekarang (Present Tense) dan waktu yang akan datang (Future Tense). Dari 3 jenis waktu inilah muncul pola-pola kalimat tersebut (Tenses).

Nb ::
• Simple : bentuk sederhanya
• Continuous : Sedang
• Perfect : Sudah
• Perfect Continuous : Masih

Mengungkapkan situasi saat itu dalam bentuk sederhana.

Menyangkal (-)	S + DID NOT + VERB 1
Tanya (?)	DID + S + VERB 1 ?
Tanya (WH)	WH + DID + S + VERB 1 ?

Kalimat Berita (+)

Contoh ::
1. He came to my house yesterday.
2. She wrote a letter last night.
3. I woke up at 5 o'clock in the morning yesterday.
Kalimat Menyangkal (-)

S + DID NOT + VERB 1

Contoh ::
1. I did not go to school yesterday.
2. She did not sing a song last night.
3. He did not see the doctor last week.
Kalimat Tanya (?)

DID + S + VERB 1 ?

Contoh ::
1. Did you visit your girlfriend last night ?
2. Did bejo go to the didi kempot concert last week ?
3. Did paijo learn english last night ?
Kalimat Tanya (WH)

WH + DID + S + VERB 1 ?

Contoh ::
1. What time did you get up yesterday ?
2. Where did you buy your book ?
3. With whom did you go to the cinema last night ?
